Johanson Technology Showcases its Embedded Antennas and a Wi-Fi 6 Filter at IMS 2020

Johanson Technology, a specialist in the design and manufacture of high-quality RF & Microwave ceramic chip capacitors, inductors, and integrated passive devices, is showcasing its RF products at the Virtual IMS 2020 Exhibition. Johanson Technology is featuring a multi-band IoT embedded antenna, mini UWB + 2.4 GHz antenna, multi-constellation embedded antenna, and Wi-Fi 6 bandpass filter.

Multiband IoT Embedded Antenna

Multiple frequencies, protocol, and functionality solutions for IoT connectivity continue to push the size and performance limit. To address this, Johanson Technology has developed a multi-band flexible solution using one antenna. Features of this product are as follows:

  • The 0830AT54A2200 is an LTE multi-band ceramic antenna that operates from 700 to 960 MHz and from 1700 to 2690 MHz.
  • The antenna provides a gain of up to 2 dBi and can handle up to 3 watts of power.
  • It is available in a surface-mount package and is ideal for cellular, IoT, CAT M1, and NB-IoT applications.

Mini UWB + 2.4 GHz Antenna

Adding more functionality to handheld, worn, portable devices in an ever shirking form factor has limited the antenna performance one achieve on such small devices. These devices such as keyless remote entry (keyfob), portable payment systems, asset tracking, location services need the necessary range to perform correctly in the application. To solve these problems Johanson has come out with a mini chip antenna. Features of this product are as follows:

  • The 2450AD18A7250 is a Single-Feed Mini Ceramic Antenna that operates from 2400 to 2480 and 6000 to 8500 MHz.
  • It delivers a peak gain of over 3 dB with an efficiency of up to 87 %.
  • This corner-mounted antenna can handle up to 3 watts of CW power and is ideal for Bluetooth / Wi-Fi applications.

Multi constellation Embedded Antenna

The need for signal reception of more than one satellite system has become standard practice. As a response to this, Johanson has developed a surface mount (SMT) antenna. Features of this product are as follows:

  • The 1582AT54A0045 is a GNSS (GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, Galileo) Chip Antenna that operates from 1560 to 1605 MHz.
  • It delivers a peak gain of 1.5 dBi, an average gain of -0.5 dBi with up to 82% of efficiency, and can handle 3 W of CW power.
  • This antenna is available in a surface-mount package and can operate over a temperature range from -40 to +85°C.

Wi-Fi 6 Bandpass Filter

To bring greater speeds, a larger number of devices connected at once, and better communications efficiency, next-generation WiFi-6 (IEEE 802.11ax) has become the answer. Short-range, latency-sensitive devices that use these new family of wireless Wi-Fi RF chipsets will require proper filtering for optimum FCC/ETSI compliance in a small footprint. As a solution to this, Johanson has released its first ceramic SMT BPF using a novel proprietary material. Features of this product are as follows:

  • The 6530BP44A1190 is a Ceramic Band Pass Filter with a passband from 5925 to 7125 MHz.
  • It can handle up to 3 W of input power, has an insertion loss of 2.3 dB, and a ripple factor of 1.9 dB.
  • This filter provides an attenuation of more than 33 dB from 30 to 5650 MHz and more than 6 dB from 8250 to 14210 MHz.
  • It is available in a surface-mount package that measures 4.50 x 3.20 x 2.20 mm and is suitable for Wi-Fi 6 applications.
