The AWR Design Environment software is being showcased as part of Cadence RF and systems offerings at the European Microwave Week 2020 virtual conference and exhibition, being held from January 10-14, with on-demand viewing through February 5.
In addition to product demonstrations in the exhibition, AWR software was featured in the Practical Workshop: Build a Frequency-Modulated Continuous Wave Radar in One Day, presented by Dr. David Ricketts of the North Carolina State University as part of the 5th European Microwave Student School. Attendees learnt the theory and design of a frequency-modulated continuous-wave (FMCW) radar, including the power amplifier, low-noise amplifier, directional coupler, and antenna. They also designed each component, including layout, and perform an electromagnetic (EM) simulation. They then fabricated the components by hand and measured them with a vector network analyzer (VNA) laptop extension to obtain the S-parameters of each component to see how well the design works. Materials and VNA extension will be provided by the instructor.
The EuMW virtual exhibition is located in Exhibition Hall 1. Hours are:
- Tuesday, January 12 – 9:30 – 18:00.
- Wednesday, January 13 – 9:30 – 17:30.
- Thursday, January 14 – 9:340 – 16:30.
