JFW Industries has developed a new manually controllable rotary-type attenuator that operates from DC to 3.6 GHz. It is designed to provide attenuation levels from 0 to 110 dB with an attenuation step size of 1 dB. The model 50BR-167 consists of three attenuators that are connected in series with each other. It has three knobs that are located on the front panel to control all these three attenuators. The attenuation setting of the assembly is the combination of the three knob settings.
The attenuation level of this attenuator can be increased by rotating the knob in the clockwise direction. This attenuator can handle an average input power of 2 W and has an insertion loss of less than 3.8 dB with a VSWR of up to 2.3:1. It is available in a benchtop enclosure that measures 6.00 x 4.50 inches with support for N-type, SMA, and TNC (female) connectors.
