Teledyne SP Devices Introduces Dual-Channel 12-Bit Data Acquisition Module with 9 GHz Analog Bandwidth

Teledyne SP Devices has introduced the ADQ35-WBa versatile dual-channel data acquisition module with a sampling rate of 10 GSPS when using one analog channel and up to 5 GSPS per channel when using two analog channels. This Dual-Channel RF Digitizer has a 12-bit resolution and an analog bandwidth of 9 GHz, making it ideal for high-frequency applications. It is equipped with an open on-board Xilinx Kintex Ultrascale KU115 FPGA that provides ample resources for custom real-time digital signal processing (DSP) and supports peer-to-peer streaming at speeds of up to 14 Gbyte/s, enabling efficient data transfer to GPU, CPU, or SSD via PCIe Gen 3 data interface.

Key Features of ADQ35-WB:

  • 12 bits vertical resolution
  • 2 channels at 5 GSPS or 1 channels at 10 GSPS
  • Also available with 8 and 4 GSPS or 6 and 3 GSPS
  • AC-coupled with up to 9 GHz usable input bandwidth (1.4 Vpp input range)
  • 8 Gbyte onboard memory
  • Open FPGA for custom real-time signal processing requires DEVDAQ
  • Peer-to-peer streaming to CPU, GPU, and SSD at 14 Gbyte/s
  • 10-bit data compression enables 100% data cycle streaming at 10 GSPS
  • Digital Down Converter can be implemented in FPGA or GPU
  • Hardware triggers and GPIO
  • PCIe form factor (single slot)

The ADQ35-WB open FPGA allows application-specific computations and direct down conversion (DDC) through the firmware development kit. The firmware offers complete control of the hardware and recording of the data with example codes provided for Python and C languages. This data acquisition module also has USB and GPIO interfaces for remote control.

This Digitizer has a built-in DRAM/PCIe controller, timing control, FIR filters, and general control functions. It also has ADCs, PCIe interface, EEPROM, configuration flash, DRAM memory, internal/external clock reference, and system manager.

The ADQ35-WB requires a DC supply from 10.8 to 13.2 V and consumes 48 W of power. It is available in a module that measures 111.15 x 269.55 x 18.42 mm and has SMA connectors. This RoHS-compliant digitizer is ideal for LiDAR, RADAR, high-speed RF data recording, scientific instruments, particle physics, disk drive test, quantum technology, and C-band direct sampling applications.
