Taoglas has introduced EAHP.125.01.0100D, which is an embedded GNSS Quadrifilar Helix Antenna designed for the GNSS L bands. It supports the GPS (L1/L2/L5), Galileo (L1/E5/E5a/E5b), GLONASS (G1/G2/G3), BeiDou (B1/B2a/B2b), and 1540-1555 MHz (upper L-band). This GNSS antenna allows correction services in the L-band deployed by u-blox and other products, enabling accurate positioning and navigation.
The EAHP.125.01.0100D is extremely compact with 31.5 mm in height and 60 mm in diameter. It is also very lightweight due to its lightweight construction. The height and weight constraints of many devices often do not allow for a large ceramic antenna. For example, UAVs and other robotic applications often will have weight restrictions to maximize battery life. Therefore, the optimum solution will be to use the EAHP.125.01.0100D which weighs only 45 g.
The EAHP.125.01.0100D has a dual-stage active antenna design, which saves time for the customer as they do not need to create a complicated active circuit to be used in conjunction with their GNSS receiver/module. For multi-band GNSS applications, this creation can be a difficult process and hence, this antenna will save the design time for users.
This helix antenna has a right-hand circular polarization to improve sensitivity and rejects left-hand circular polarized reflections that are commonly experienced in urban environments. It achieves the best performance on a non-metallic surface.
This RoHS-compliant quadrifilar helix antenna provides an average gain of up to 1.74 dBic with an efficiency of 58.11% and has an axial ratio of less than 2.15 dB. It requires a supply voltage from 2 to 5.5 VDC. It is housed in an FR4-based package measuring 60.00 mm x 31.52 mm and includes an SMA-male connector and a RF cable for the RF port. Cables and connectors are fully customizable.
This antenna is suitable for use in UAVs, drones, robotics, transportation, aerospace, and surveying applications.
