The HSPA/LTE Network-in-a-Box® (NIB) product from Tecore Networks has been selected by Iristel, Canada’s largest Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC), and Ice Wireless, a 4G/LTE mobile network operator, for deployment across fourteen (14) communities in Northern Quebec. After an intensive evaluation process, it was selected based on its all-in-one capabilities comprised of exceptional reliability, capacity, and innovative voice and high speed data features. This product includes a complete Core and Radio Access Network (RAN) supporting both HSPA and LTE voice and data services.
The new HSPA/LTE network will greatly improve telecommunications in a region that has long been underserved due to its remote location along the Arctic coastline of Canada.
This build-out in the Canadian Arctic is a prime example of Tecore’s focus to develop, deliver and deploy robust all-in-one integrated mobile network solutions to facilitate the needs of underserved areas.
The HSPA/LTE Network-in-a-Box provides operators with a compact, adaptable and cost-effective platform for deploying, extending and evolving their networks. As the baseline of the expansion efforts, the NIB's ability to be deployed as a standalone system or networked together to provide a larger communications network makes it the turnkey solution of choice for islands, rural and remote communities. NIB platform enables local operators to have cost-effective, highly scalable options now and for future expansion. When developing these solutions, the focus was centered on the need for world class features, capabilities and coverage in low population communities while maintaining a cost-effective infrastructure.
Executives from Tecore Networks, Iristel and Ice Wireless will be available at the upcoming CTIA Super Mobility Expo (Booth 4007) to discuss their joint deployment and partnership to expand coverage into rural Canadian Territories. CTIA will be taking place September 7-9, 2016 at the Sands Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
