Airgain has partnered with Quantenna to develop a Wi-Fi 6 reference design, incorporating Airgain’s Wi-Fi 6 antenna solution and Quantenna’s high-performance Wi-Fi 6 chipset, the QSR10GU-AX PLUS.
With increases in RF system complexity required to get the most out of Wi-Fi 6, system designers face much longer design cycles unless they can tap into existing RF integration expertise. This reference design puts Quantenna’s market-leading chipset, and Airgain’s Wi-Fi 6 antenna technology together to get the best real-world performance out of the technology. It should be a win-win for early adopters who can leverage the reference design to get to market faster and with better system performance, according to Airgain.
The Quantenna-based reference design leverages Quantenna’s QSR10GU-AX PLUS chipset with adaptive MIMO capability, a unique feature that enables dynamic switching between 8x8 MIMO and dual 4x4 MIMO in the 5GHz band. This feature provides end users with the best possible MIMO configuration, tailored to each individual environment. The chipset also supports advanced MU-MIMO and SuperTx capabilities, providing significant performance gains with both legacy and new Wi-Fi 6 clients.
Both the companies will be showcasing their latest innovations including Wi-Fi 6 products and solutions at the upcoming CES 2019 event in Las Vegas, NV.
