Faster Testing of Phased Array Antennas Improves LEO HTS Launch Rates
The race to build a global communications network capable of lowering economic barriers, connecting remote communities and enabling the Internet of Things is intensifying. Ground technology, launch vehicle innovation, and satellite design advancements are all promising to make the next decade extremely productive. The race is on to be the first provider of reliable 5G broadband worldwide through a network of Low Earth Orbit High Throughput Satellites (LEO HTS).
Capable of reducing signal delay by up to five times when compared with geosta-tionary satellites, LEO HTS constellations can deliver increased throughput of up to 400 percent. Once fully operational, these LEO satellites will integrate with terrestrial networks, offering an alternative to fixed wireless internet access technologies in the home and workplace.
