Merging GNSS with Low-Power Connectivity Solutions
European Global Navigation Satellite Systems agency
The world is embracing Internet of Things (IoT) applications. Billions of internet-connected devices are capable of sensing, communicating, interacting, computing and actuating, and are set to become even more integrated into our daily lives. By 2022, around 18 billion out of 29 billion connected devices will be related to IoT. While short-range IoT devices are connected via technologies such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, wide-area IoT devices are connected to the internet using cellular connections or Low-Power Wide-Area Networks (LPWAN), such as Sigfox, LoRa, NB-IoT or LTE-M.
