What frequency bands have been allocated to 5G in Finland?
Finland has allocated two frequency bands for 5G:
The 5G spectrum has been auctioned in two phases by the Finnish Transport and Communication Agency. The auction for licenses within 3410 to 3800 MHz was done on October 1, 2018. This was the first 5G spectrum auction targeting the medium band.
The second spectrum auction was held on 8 June 2020 for the 26 GHz (n258) band targeting the high frequency (FR2) or mm-Wave 5G.
5G service is provided by three telecommunications companies: Elisa Oyj, Telia Finland Oyj and DNA Oyj.
