RG-24 Coaxial Cables are a type of cable that is suitable for high frequency signal transmission. It exhibits excellent signal integrity and features low signal loss, making it ideal for long-haul communication links and telecommunication applications.

RG-24/A/U

The RG-24/A/U is a 125-ohm coaxial cable with an overall diameter of 0.708 inches and has a voltage rating of up to 3000 Vrms. It consists of two individually coated bare copper conductors with 7-stranding construction (carrying the electrical signal). The inner conductors are enclosed by an insulation layer typically made of Polyethylene (PE). The insulation layer is then completely enclosed by 2 shield layers made of the bare copper braid. The shields form an outer conductor and also offer protection against electromagnetic interference (EMI). Finally, the structure is covered with an outermost layer called a jacket made of Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC). The jacket protects the cable core from mechanical, moisture, and chemical issues.

The RG-24/A/U cable exhibits an approximate capacitance of 12 to 13 pF/ft and has signal attenuation of around 5.2 dB/100 ft at 400 MHz (signal attenuation of the cable depends on the frequency). This cable has two inner conductors, each measuring 0.0285 inches (0.723 mm) in diameter, an insulation layer measuring 0.380 inches (9.65 mm) in diameter, and a velocity propagation of 66 %. It has an operating temperature of -40°C to +85°C.
