A phase trimmer is a phase shifting device that applies a phase adjustment to an input signal, producing a signal with a phase slightly different than the input. Typically, a phase trimmer is used to produce a phase match between two cables, were a phase match is critical for system performance (i.e. high speed digital, high frequency, and broadband applications). The phase adjustment range for a phase trimmer is often a function of frequency, and a phase trimmer may be fixed or variable.
