Orthogonal Time Frequency and Space (OTFS) modulation is a newly developed wireless modulation technique that provides greater coverage, higher capacity, and cost savings by simultaneously extracting time, frequency & spatial channel behavior.

This patented technique provides 100 percent coverage, 10 times more spectral efficiency and a 50 percent cost savings in comparison to other modulation methods by completely capturing the full channel diversity.

The Orthogonal Time Frequency and Space (OTFS) modulation technique was developed by Coherence Technologies. They also claim that OTFS can co-exists with OFDM, which will make migration easy from 4G to 5G. Cohere plans to productize OTFS for backhaul, fixed wireless access and 5G.
