The L1C GPS signal was developed by the US and Europe as a common civil signal for GPS and Galileo. It features a Multiplexed Binary Offset Carrier (MBOC) modulation scheme that enables it to work with Galileo and other GNSS Constellations while ensuring that the US national security interests are protected. This is part of the L1 Band so operates at 1575 MHz. This signal is being used by GPS III.
