Founded in 2004, the OmniAir Consortium is promoting interoperability and certification for connected vehicles, intelligent transportation systems (ITS), and transportation payment systems. OmniAir in collaboration with its members have standardized specifications for both RFID tolling and DSRC-based Connected Vehicle devices.

OmniAir has been certifying RFID tags and readers used in electronic toll collection systems since 2012. The Consortium has introduced the first vehicle-to-everything (V2X) device certification program for the connected vehicle market in 2017.

Test laboratories, equipment and tool providers, devices and systems that pass the OmniAir Consortium's rigorous test programs can carry the OmniAir Certification Mark. OmniAir’s members include public agencies, private companies, research institutions, and independent test labs.
