Shielded GPS LNA Front End Modules for Mobile Applications

Shielded GPS LNA Front End Modules for Mobile Applications

Skyworks Solutions has released two new shielded GPS low-noise amplifier front end modules (FEMs) for mobile applications like smartphones and tablets. The SKY65725-11 and SKY65728-11 feature high linearity, excellent gain, and superior noise figure to enable design flexibility and high levels of integration. Integrated pre-filters provide a low in-band insertion loss and excellent rejection of cellular, PCS, and WLAN frequency bands. The shielding  allow them to be placed closer to the antenna for improved receiver sensitivity that is necessary in today's mobile devices.

While the SKY65725-11 is designed for GPS/GNSS/BDS receiver applications, the SKY65728-11 is developed for GPS L5 band receiver applications.

Key Features of the Shielded GPS Low Noise Amplifier Front Ends

  • Innovative proprietary shielded technology provides enhanced immunity to jammers and EMI
  • Excellent OOB rejection simplifies multi-radio designs
  • Low noise figure provides better sensitivity and faster time to first fix (TTFF) for GPS devices
  • Compact package size of 1.6 x 1.6 mm
  • Single supply voltage and current provides design flexibility and extends battery life
    • SKY65725-11, 3.5 mA, 1.1 - 2.85 V range
