At the Virtual IMS Event taking place online, Signal Hound is showcasing three products, the SM200B 20 GHz spectrum analyzer (USB 3.0), SM200C 20 GHz spectrum analyzer (10 GbE) and VSG60A 6 GHz vector signal generator.
SM200B 20 GHz Spectrum Analyzer
The SM200B is a high-performance spectrum analyzer and monitoring receiver. Tuning from 100 kHz to 20GHz, the analyzer has 160 MHz of instantaneous bandwidth (IBW), 110 dB of dynamic range, 1THz/sec sweep speed at 30kHz RBW (using Nuttall windowing), and phase noise performance that is low enough to contribute less than 0.1% error to EVM measurements and rival even the most expensive spectrum analyzers on the market.
The SM200B offers 160 MHz instantaneous bandwidth (IBW) calibrated I/Q capture, available through block transfer of a 2-second I/Q buffer over USB 3.0 to the PC.
Signal processing is distributed between a very powerful Altera FPGA and an external PC having an Intel Core i5 processor. The Signal Hound SM200B can be readily interfaced, using its local API, to an automated monitoring system or to automated test equipment. The SM200B API provides customers the access needed to insert their own DSP algorithms into a calibrated stream of I/Q data.
SM200C 20 GHz Spectrum Analyzer
The SM200C is a high-performance spectrum analyzer and monitoring receiver with a 10 Gigabit Ethernet SFP+ port, enabling the SM200C to communicate with a PC over long distances using a fiber optic cable. Designed for remotely-located accurate RF data analysis at the lowest cost possible, the SM200C features:
- 160 MHz instantaneous bandwidth I/Q streaming over 10GbE
- SFP+ port for fast, long-distance communication with a PC using an optic cable
- Device control and data transfer occurs via SFP+ connection, not USB
- Tunes from 100 kHz to 20 GHz
- Sweeps at 1 THz/sec at 30 kHz RBW
- 110 dB of dynamic range
- Ultra-low phase noise
- GPIO port antenna switching
VSG60A 6 GHz Vector Signal Generator
The VSG60A features a low phase noise, an agile local oscillator with 200 µs switch time, enabling frequency hopping spread spectrum testing. A dual 14-bit DAC runs at 2x or 3x the I/Q symbol rate using digital oversampling to provide a flat, clean baseband; and a digitally adjustable internal VCTCXO ensures frequency errors are kept to a minimum over temperature, or an external 10 MHz input may be used for zero ppm frequency error. A trigger output is also available to synchronize your VSG60A with other test equipment.
