TE Connectivity (TE) announced that their FlexWave Prism and InterReach Spectrum distributed antenna systems (DAS) have now been upgraded for 4G services, allowing customers currently using 2G and 3G service to deliver more capacity in their networks. They used techniques such as MIMO, resectorization and added new frequency bands, including 700 MHz and 2100 MHz AWS, TE is driving new levels of capacity and service in stadiums, hospitality venues, subways, major enterprises and universities worldwide. They provide a robust and cost-effective upgrade path for mobile operators and venue owners who want to continue to bring the highest quality of service to their subscribers and guests.
TE’s DAS solutions use technology-agnostic electronics to distribute mobile signals and are ideal for 4G upgrades. The mobile operators and venue owners can now simply add a new base station interface to the DAS head-end, and that signal is automatically distributed to remote antennas placed across the property.
Venues offering MIMO service can upgrade by adding a base station for the second MIMO path and a second antenna at each location to deliver the service. Creating redundancy and optimizing capacity does not require an overlay system with additional cabling and DAS electronics. TE DAS solutions will be featured at CTIA Super Mobility Week in booth #3438 at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada on 9th September, 2014.
