Knowles Brands to Showcase Products at the Electronica 2014

electronica 2014This year at the Electronics 2014, DLI, Novacap, Syfer and Voltronics Corp will showcase their products under the Knowles brand. The Electronica 2014 will be held from the 11-14 November, 2014 in Munich, Germany. Each of the brands will be showcasing the following:

KnowlesDLI’s (Dielectric Laboratories, Inc.) recently released EW series of Gain Equalizers offering DC-18 GHz performance with varying slopes in a 0302 case size.  These Thin Film integrated R-C networks compensate for gain roll-off and VSWR mismatch loss and matched to a 50 ohm transmission line for optimal broadband performance.  Another most recent addition is a 6-18 GHz Power Divider with excellent phase and amplitude balance, minimum of 20 dB Isolation and low loss.  At a size of 4 mm x 4.7 mm this surface mountable component can handle up to 5 watts of input power.  These new small sized products are part of a growing range exploiting DLI’s vast knowledge in RF/Microwave, high permittivity ceramics and Thin Film processes to ensure excellent repeatability.  Products like Gain Equalizers, Power Dividers for RF/Microwave frequencies and Bandpass and Lowpass Filter that offer performances from 2 to 30 GHz with high temperature stability.

Novacap has increased the range of Detonator & Pulse Energy capacitors designed for oil field exploration and perforation.  More case sizes have been added and the range extended up to 3kV, with the upper cap value now 720nF.  These high temperature, high energy, capacitors are manufactured with a dielectric formulation designed for reliable operation under single or multiple pulse firing applications. Energy density exceeds that of conventional Class 1 materials and offers excellent short duration pulse delivery at temperatures to 200ºC. Discharge pulse width which is typically less than 100 nanoseconds will vary with load conditions which are influenced by inductive and resistive load components. With exceptionally low ESR and low signal distortion, additional applications at high temperature include power supply filtering, energy storage and coupling/decoupling.

Syfer will be displaying the PSL Series MLCCs suitable for power supplies, DC-DC converters, LED lighting, and other demanding applications. The PSL Range is the first of several lower cost ranges to be released.  Features include capacitance range from 220pF to 1µF, temperature range up to 125ºC, lead-free solders and fully compliant with the RoHS & WEEE directives.  Initially available in X7R dielectric the range is now available with Syfer’s award winning FlexiCap™ termination selectable across the range.  C0G dielectric versions are also now available.  For the automotive market the Syfer range of AEC-Q200 qualified products has been extended to meet increasing demands. Chip MLC C0G and X7R dielectric capacitors are offered in capacitances ranging from 100pF to 4.7µF and operating voltages from 50V to 3kV dc. Their small package size is an important characteristic in automotive applications and range from the miniature 0603 to the standard 2220 footprint.  In addition, for critical EMI protection applications, Syfer offers 50 and 100V EMI filter capacitors from 330pF to 560nF (balanced line) and from 560pF to 200nF (3 terminal).

Voltronics Corp will showcase the V9000 Sapphire trimmer capacitor.  It is truly sub-miniature at just 16.3mm in length, but offers the highest working voltage rating for its size at 2 kV - whilst delivering a capacitance range of 1 to 12pF.  These trimmers have a high Q (3000 min at 100MHz); DC working voltage of 2000V and DC withstand of 3000V.  Sapphire is ideal for precision trimmer capacitors as its dielectric constant is extremely stable and the dielectric loss is below 0.0003 over frequencies up to 10GHz, and is chemically inert; totally moisture resistant and mechanically strong. The V9000 Series is specifically designed for the MRI industry where its size, power, capacitance range and affordability make it the preferred choice for the next generation of coils.
