Skyworks Introduces High Fidelity Solutions for Streaming Music Platforms at Bose and Sonos

Skyworks has captured design wins with virtually every tier-one original equipment manufacturer (OEM) in this fast growing market segment. These include OEMs like Bose and Sonos. Their front-end devices integrate power amplifiers, low noise amplifiers, switches, filters and power detectors. Leveraging Skyworks' proprietary 802.11 technologies, these highly innovative solutions combine optimized hardware and software to deliver high quality, long range streaming audio.

In a wide ranging report on the future of the entertainment industry, PricewaterhouseCoopers expects on-demand, digital delivery of music, movies, videos, games and eBooks to significantly expand over the next few years. In this year's "Global Entertainment and Media Outlook", PwC is forecasting that the digital delivery revolution will dramatically change the way we use our connected devices. Digital music streaming revenue is forecasted to increase from $848 million in 2013 to $1.7 billion in 2018, when it will account for 37 percent of total digital recorded music revenue.
