Z-Comm Introduces Voltage Controlled Oscillator for Mobile Satellite Terminal Applications

Z-Communications has announced the RoHS compliant VCO (Voltage-Controlled Oscillator) model V377TE02-LF for mobile satellite terminal applications. The V377TE02-LF operates from 1380 to 1415 MHz with a tuning voltage range of 0.3 to 3.0 VDC. This unmatched VCO is sure to boost the performance of any satellite system by providing a low noise signal source. The V377TE02-LF delivers phase noise of -106 dBc/Hz @ 10 kHz offset all while housed in Z-COMM’s industry standard 375 package measuring a 0.375 x 0.375 x 0.120 inches. This VCO is further enhanced by conserving precious energy; it is designed to operate off a 3 Vdc supply while drawing 25 mA of current.

The budget friendly V377TE02-LF delivers 3 ±3 dBm of output power into a 50 ohm load and operates over the industrial temperature range of -40 to 85°C. This remarkable VCO boasts a better than 1.1:1 linearity making it easier for PLL designers to integrate into their system. The V377TE02-LF features a typical 2nd harmonic suppression of -30 dBc and covers the frequency band with average tuning gain of 25 MHz/V. It is available in tape and reel packaging for production requirements making it well suited for automated surface mount assembly and reflow.

In addition to satellite communication applications, the V377TE02-LF is also ideal for mobile test equipment systems where low power consumption and a small size is required.
