RFHIC Introduces GaN Solid-State Microwave Generator from 900-930 MHz for Industrial Applications

RFHIC Corporation, a designer and manufacturer of gallium-nitride (GaN) transistors, power amplifiers, and high-power microwave generator system solutions, has introduced the RIU093K0-40TG – a 3kW GaN solid-state microwave generator system designed for various industrial heating and drying applications.

The RIU093K0-40TG is a complete microwave generator system equipped with a remote GaN SSPA head, a 380 VAC 3-phase 50/60 Hz power supply unit (PSU), and a main control unit (MCU). The remote GaN SSPA head is separate from the PSU and MCU and is connected via cable assembly.

Unlike conventional magnetron systems that require bulky and long waveguides, the new RIU093K0-40TG is pre-equipped with an internal waveguide (IP protected) that can be directly attached to a horn antenna, simplifying system integration and saving significant costs.

The RIU093K0-40TG is equipped with a phase-lock-loop (PLL) synthesizer that generates the desired frequency precisely. The generator’s power level, phase, and signal source (CW/Pulse) can be remotely controlled and monitored through RFHIC’s software suite. The RIU093K0-40TG generator is built with four 800W, GaN solid-state power amplifiers (SSPA), each fabricated with RFHIC’s gallium-nitride (GaN) HEMTs, providing excellent thermal stability and a system efficiency of 60% at peak output power.

RFHIC is continuing to pave the way for high-power microwave energy sources for next-generation industrial, scientific, and medical applications.
