Anritsu has announced the ME7873L RF Conformance Test System which has achieved GCF-approved test case validation for LTE evolved Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Services (eMBMS) Band 4 and Band 13 RF conformance test cases. With this new release approved by GCF in October 2014, Anritsu is the first company to earn GCF validation for WI-164 E-UTRA MBMS Rel-9 FDD conformance test cases that support the frequency bands expected to enter commercial service in North America.
The approval is the most recent example of Anritsu’s focus on earning GCF/PTCRB validations to help facilitate early rollout of LTE eMBMS in various frequency bands. eMBMS, the enabling technology of LTE Broadcast, has been deployed in South Korea and rollouts are expected before year end in North America. With the eMBMS option installed, the ME7873L can verify mobile device performance to ensure operation of broadcast services, including sending multiple video streams from different angles to users at densely populated areas such as concerts and sporting events.
A scalable GCF- and PTCRB-validated test system, the ME7873L enables certification of LTE devices to industry and carrier standards. Test coverage is available for 3GPP 36.521-1 (TX, RX, and performance), 36.521-3 (Radio Resource Management – RRM) and carrier-specific supplementary RF/RRM test packages. It supports LTE/LTE-Advanced RF/RRM conformance tests for use at Japanese, North American and Asian mobile carrier acceptance testing laboratories.
