The MD8475A signaling tester from Anritsu with the Windows-based SmartStudio Manager software will now provide multi-operator support for Commercial Mobile Alert System (CMAS) Carrier Acceptance Test (CAT) packages. With this capability, the MD8475A will be able to analyze CMAS, providing device manufacturers with the necessary CAT test capability to verify that their wireless devices are correctly receiving emergency cell broadcast messages and properly alerting users based on the message contents and severity. There are three separate CAT packages which include 2G, 3G, and LTE radio technology support, allowing the platform to specifically address the ecosystems of leading North American carriers.
With the packages and SmartStudio Manager, CMAS messages can be sent at any time simply by selecting created/edited messages. By simulating a real-world network environment, the MD8475A establishes a simple, cost-efficient and accurate process for validating UE performance. The MD8475A is a small footprint, cost-effective network connectivity and performance simulator that enables efficient, accurate, and repeatable device testing. Along with the integrated SmartStudio Manager this tester allows mobile device manufacturers to quickly verify proper device operation, lowering the test cost and speeding time to market.
