SAG has introduced an NFC Molding Tag to make it easy to add NFC tags into final products. The molding tag is a hassle-free tag with both the antenna and chip in a small form factor which helps to effortlessly add NFC functions to electronic devices. Equipped with STMicroelectronics NFC Type 5-compliant ST25TV02K chip (following ISO/IEC 15693 protocol), this tag enables contactless communication between a device and NFC-enabled mobile phones via its RF interface.
Ultra-small but Robust to Guarantee Reliable Performance
The Molding Tag has a small and thin structure, making it ideal for integration into small items. The antenna and chip are protected and can be used in harsh environments at 200°C for 240 hours and at extreme temperatures of 250°C for 24 hours.
Customized Dimension for Versatile Application
SAG has the capability to customize the form factor of this tag into the shape and size required by the customer. Customers can add this tag to non-metallic items with an adhesive, epoxy potting or add it to a product product with plastic injection.
Key Features of the Molding Tag:
- Ultra-small size in 6.7 x 6.7 x 0.75 mm
- Resistant to extreme temperature
- Packaged with chip and antenna in simple form factor
- ISO/IEC 15693, NFC Forum Type 5 compliant
Applications of the Molding Tag include:
- Product authentication and counterfeiting for consumer electronics
- Equipment setup and configuration
- Process management
- Medical device and surgical instruments identification
In addition to the Molding Tag, SAG has also introduced a Dual Frequency Smart Label (50x30 mm) that is compatible with both NFC and RAIN RFID (UHF) technologies. It operates at a frequency of 13.56 MHz / 860 to 960 MHz and has a read range of up to 7 m. Powered by the em|echo-V chip (EM4425), this smart label provides an application crossover and opens the possibility to apply just one label to fit all use cases in both NFC and RAIN RFID domains. By utilizing the Tag Tamper function (TT) and a specialized antenna design, the digital part of the chip can send a status update when the antenna loop is broken.
The Dual Frequency Smart Label supports both NFC Type 5 specifications and EPC G2V2 protocols at the same time. The two protocols share a common unique ID number and 2048-bit user memory. This enables its usage in an efficient way because the encoding job can be done at one time via either air interface. It is ideal for use in inventory and supply chain management, customer engagement, and logistics applications.
