Rohde & Schwarz has announced the release of a 40 GHz version of the R&S SGU100A RF upconverter. This version can be used to expand the frequency range of the R&S SGS100A vector signal generator from 12.75 GHz to 40 GHz, making it the smallest microwave device of its kind on the market for continuous signals between 80 MHz and 40 GHz.
The two devices when combined can be stacked to take up two height units and half the width of a 19” rack. Alternatively they fit into a 19” rack and take up one complete height unit. The setup is perfectly suited for ultra wideband aerospace and defense applications.
Starting from 12 GHz the R&S SGU100A can be used with a 2 GHz I/Q modulation bandwidth. Together with the R&S SMW200A high end vector signal generator it can provide signals of 40 GHz with up to three phase coherent outputs. This system is ideal for testing phase array antenna systems.
