ANADIGICS has introduced three new power amplifiers (PAs) optimized for 3G and 4G small-cell applications, including picocells, enterprise-class femtocells, and high-performance customer premises equipment (CPE). Service providers are expected to increasingly leverage small-cell equipment to improve network capacity and data speeds in densely populated areas. This is exemplified by a recent presentation at LTE World Summit 2015 by Vodafone Netherlands, which discussed planned expansion of its small-cell network and the superior customer experience that it provides.
The AWB7133, AWB7137, and AWB7238 power amplifiers operate in the 2496 MHz to 2690 MHz, 758 MHz to 803 MHz, and 791 MHz to 821 MHz frequency bands, respectively, delivering a combination of excellent efficiency, linearity, output power, and thermal characteristics. This level of performance enables manufacturers to develop wireless infrastructure solutions that consume less power and provide higher throughput with greater coverage.
ANADIGICS complete family of small-cell wireless infrastructure power amplifiers leverages the Company's unique InGaP-Plus™ technology and innovative design architectures to deliver industry-leading performance and integration. The AWB7133 and AWB7137 power amplifier devices deliver better than 15% efficiency, 28 dB gain, and -47 dBc ACPR @ +24.5 dBm of linear output power. The AWB7238 power amplifier features 13.5% efficiency, 30 dB gain, and -47 dBc ACPR @ +27 dBm linear output power. These power amplifiers are available in the same compact, low-profile 7 mm x 7 mm x 1.3 mm surface mount package used across the entire AWB71XX and AWB72XX product lines, allowing the same PCB layout to be used for different bands and power levels. ANADIGICS' small-cell power amplifiers offer integrated bias, which eliminates the need for complicated external circuitry and reduces PCB space requirements.
This Power Amplifier Family offers high linearity to support WCDMA, HSPA, LTE FDD, and TD-LTE small-cell base stations. They have a low noise, low distortion for very low EVM levels and best-in-class efficiency for improved reliability with low-cost thermal design. These power amplifiers have a convenient single supply which eliminates the need for complicated external bias circuitry to simplify design and system integration. They have a low transistor junction temperature for greater long-term reliability and are optimized for 1/4-Watt and 1/2-Watt linear output power to support a wide array of applications. The common pinout and footprint across each output power family enable customers to simplify board designs across many frequency bands. See the range of ANADIGICS Amplifiers on everything RF.
