Akoustis Technologies, an integrated device manufacturer (IDM) of patented bulk acoustic wave (BAW) high-band RF filters for mobile and other wireless applications, announced that it has started sampling two new Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 filter solutions, covering the U-NII 1-3 and U-NII 5-8 bands of high-frequency, high-speed Wi-Fi. The filters are expected to ramp into production in the first half of calendar 2023.
The newly developed filter solutions are high-performance, ultra-wideband XBAW® RF filters are being produced in Akoustis’ New York manufacturing facility. The filters are designed to meet the stringent rejection requirements enabling coexistence with the U-NII 1-3 and U-NII 5-8 frequency bands. They will be offered as standard catalog products, targeting Wi-Fi 6E and emerging Wi-Fi 7 enterprise, carrier, and consumer Access Points (AP), available to all potential customers. The primary advantages over the Company’s prior generation U-NII 1-3 and U-NII 5-8 filter solutions include significantly smaller form factor and superior out-of-band rejection performance.

Akoustis is currently ramping commercial production and is investing to achieve annual production capacity of approximately 500 million units.
