Linx Technologies (Linx), now part of TE Connectivity, a developer and manufacturer of antennas and connectors, has introduced the ANT-450-HSW, a monopole whip-style antenna designed to be suitable for cellular and cellular IoT applications in the 410 MHz and 450 MHz bands, including LTE bands 31, 72, 73, 87, and 88. The latest release from Linx is especially well-suited for metering, utility, industrial, and Internet of Things (IoT) devices.
The hinged design of the ANT-450-HSW allows for the antenna to be positioned for optimum performance, with detents for straight, 45 degree, or 90 degree positioning. The exterior provides additional UV protection in harsh weather environments. The antenna connects via an N plug (male pin) or TNC plug (male pin) connector.
The antenna delivers a peak gain of 3.1 dBi with an efficiency of 98% and has a VSWR of less than 1.2:1 in the frequency band from 410 MHz to 427 MHz. In the frequency band from 450 MHz to 470 MHz, this monopole antenna provides a peak gain of 4.6 dBi with an efficiency of 12%, and has a VSWR of less than 2.1:1.
“The 450 MHz spectrum provides an excellent opportunity for long-range performance for Internet of Things (IoT) devices, like smart metering applications,” said Rick Stuby, Senior Manager Product Management. “Our new ANT-450-HW antennas provide robust connectivity solutions for smart devices requiring reliable communication.”
The new antennas are available now via Linx Technologies’ distributor and manufacturer representative networks. Click here to learn more about this monopole whip-style antenna.
