50-Ohm, 1:2 RF Balun from 10 MHz to 67 GHz Signal Integrity Applications
The EBAL-0067 from Marki Microwave is an RF Balun that operates from 10 MHz to 67 GHz. This ultra-broadband balun is hand-tuned for optimal phase and amplitude balance performance across the complete band. It has an impedance ratio of 1:2 (balance to unbalanced transformer), an amplitude balance of ±1.5 dB, and a phase balance of ±15°. This 50-ohm balun provides an isolation of 5 dB, a common mode rejection of 35 dB, and has an insertion loss of less than 8 dB (as a mode converter). It is available in a module that measures 38.10 x 38.10 x 10.68 mm with 1.85 mm (female) connectors and is suitable for use in analog to digital converters, balanced receivers, baseband digital modulations, and signal integrity applications. The PXIe-5842 from National Instruments is a PXI Vector Signal Transceiver with continuous frequency coverage from 50 MHz to 23 GHz. It has an instantaneous bandwidth of 2 GHz and provides best-in-class RF performance on key metrics such as Error Vector Magnitude (EVM) and average noise density. This VST has a FPGA-based, real-time signal processing and control and supports high bandwidth digital RF data movement through high-speed digital serial links to enable real-time, closed-loop signal processing as well as high bandwidth record to disk applications. 4-Channel Vector Signal Generator from 9 kHz to 8.5 GHz
The N5186A MXG from Keysight Technologies is a 4-channel Vector Signal Generator with a frequency range from 9 kHz to 8.5 GHz. It delivers an output power of up to +27 dBm with a phase noise of -147 dBc/Hz (at 10 kHz offset) and has a frequency resolution of 1 x 10-5 Hz. This signal generator is capable of generating signals with a modulation bandwidth of 960 MHz. It can provide consistent and repeatable results, making it suitable for wideband multi-channel testing in both commercial and mission-critical applications. mmWave Antenna Array for Automotive Radar System Testing
The R&S®QAT100 from Rohde & Schwarz is a mmWave Antenna Array for automotive radar testing system that operates from 76 to 81 GHz. It has an electronically steerable frontend that enables realistic target generation. The antenna array has up to 2 x 96 individually switchable transmit antennas and can simulate up to 8 completely independent objects. It has small patch antennas which are covered with an absorber to provide a clean RF frontend with very low RCS, reducing the sensor noise floor and suppressing close range targets and potential multipath reflections. Single/Multi-Channel Vector Signal Generators from 10 MHz to 40 GHz
The APVSGXX from AnaPico are Single/Multi-Channel Vector Signal Generators with a frequency range from 10 MHz to 40 GHz. They are available with up to 4 channels, deliver an output power from +13 to +19 dBm, and have an SSB phase noise of -115 dBc/Hz (at 20 kHz offset, 20 GHz frequency). These signal generators have an RF modulation bandwidth of 400 MHz and an image sideband rejection of -85 dBc. They utilize an internal I/Q modulator to enable customized waveforms as modulation signals and support a variety of modulation schemes including avionics modulation. Ultra-Low Noise Amplifier from 1 to 6 GHz for Space Applications
The TDLNA002093SEP from Teledyne e2v HiRel Electronics is a low noise amplifier developed for high-reliability space and radar applications. The LNA operates from 1 to 6 GHz and provides 21 dB of gain with a noise figure 0.37 dB and has a P1dB of 19 dBm. The device utilizes application-specific biasing and can be biased over a VDD range of 2.7 to 5.0 volts and an IDDQ range of 30 mA to 100 mA. A Class-K evaluation kit is also available for customer evaluation. The LNA has been developed on a 0.15 μm, InGaAs, pHEMT technology, is available in a 6-pin dual-flat no-lead (DFN) 1.5 mm x 1.5 mm x 0.8 mm plastic surface mount package. The iCana ICAMB2629-A is a 5G mmWave Beamforming IC that operates from 26.5 GHz to 29.5 GHz covering n257 and n261 5G NR FR2 bands for Wireless Infrastructure applications. It contains 8 independent transmit and receive channels supporting 4 horizontal and 4 vertical polarized antennas via independent input/outputs. The IC provides a channel gain range of 7 dB with 0.5 dB step, common gain range of 20 dB with 1 dB step, phase resolution of 5.6°, and a wide signal bandwidth of 800 MHz. Low-Noise Gain Block from 23 to 29.5 GHz for mmWave 5G Applications
The CMX90B702 from CML Microcircuits is a Gain Block that operates from 23 to 29.5 GHz. It provides a small signal gain of 17.5 dB with a noise figure of 4 dB and has an output P1dB of 5 dBm. This gain block has been fabricated using a GaAs pHEMT process to provide optimum gain, linearity, noise, and low DC power consumption. It is highly integrated to minimize the external component count and board area. The gain block requires a single positive DC supply from 3 V to 5 V and consumes 40 mW of power. It also includes an active bias circuit that helps maintain performance over a wide operating temperature and supply voltage range. Read more
Single Junction Coaxial Circulators from 10 MHz to 20 GHz
The coaxial circulators from UIY operate from 10 MHz to 20 GHz. They have an insertion loss of below 1.2 dB, isolation of over 14 dB, and can handle up to 600 watts of forward power. The PA-2G18G-43-5-40-SFF from Quantic PMI is a Power Amplifier that operates from 2 to 18 GHz. It delivers a saturated output power of 10 W (40 dBm) with a gain of more than 38 dB. Transceiver Module from 71 to 86 GHz for High-Power E-band Links
The Hercules II from Filtronic is an E-band Transceiver Module that operates from 71 to 76 (Tx) GHz and 81 to 86 GHz (Rx). It combines Filtronic’s Morpheus II transceiver and a Cerus SSPA module. Each Morpheus module contains all the transmit and receive functions necessary for the RF section of an E-band link and provides a simple connection to a high data rate full duplex modem. The integration of a Cerus power amplifier significantly increases the available transmit power. Morpheus and Cerus modules are designed for easy incorporation into ODUs for rapid time to market with minimal customer engineering resources. The ARF1014 from Altum RF is an MMIC Power Amplifier that operates from 27 to 31.5 GHz. It delivers a saturated output power of 12 W with a gain of 18 dB and power-added efficiency (PAE) of 25%. The amplifier die is fabricated using GaN-on-SiC process technology and is ideal for Satcom terminals and other Ka-band applications. It requires a bias voltage of -1.9/22 V and draws 230 mA of current. The ARF1014 is available as a bare die that measures 3.00 x 3.4 x 0.1 mm and is suitable for use in SATCOM, telecom, and instrumentation systems. Read more
RF Balun Die from 3 to 18 GHz
The TMC810-1 from mmTron is an RF Balun that operates from 3 to 18 GHz. It converts a balanced signal to an unbalanced signal (and vice-versa) with a phase match of 1° and an amplitude balance of 0.4 dB. This 50-ohm balun is fabricated with high power, high Q GaAs process, and has a common mode rejection of 35 dB. It has an insertion loss of 2 dB and a return loss of 10 dB. This balun has AC-coupled balanced ports that eliminate the need for external blocking capacitors. It has a symmetrical die layout that measures 1.25 x 2.17 mm and can be assembled in multi-chip modules or in an air-cavity QFN package for surface-mount assembly. Wide Bandwidth RF Amplifier from 100 kHz to 100 GHz
The SHF T850 C from SHF Communication Technologies is an RF Amplifier that operates from 100 kHz to 100 GHz. This amplifier provides a gain of more than 10 dB and has a maximum output eye amplitude of 2 V for linear operation. It has a distributed amplifier design that uses SHF’s monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) inside special carriers to achieve ultra-wide bandwidth. The amplifier has a wide bandwidth that offers the capability to amplify binary signals of more than 100 GBaud while its good linearity enables this amplifier to drive modulators and lasers for PAM, optical QAM, OFDM, and analog signals. They have capacitance values from 10 to 220 nF and exhibit ultra-low insertion loss, flat frequency response, and excellent return loss. These capacitors have a rugged ceramic construction with an operating temperature range from -55°C to +125°C and are suitable for DC blocking, coupling, bypassing, and feedback applications that require ultra-broadband performance. They are available in packages that measure 1.0 x 0.5 x 0.6 mm and are ideal for use in optoelectronics/high-speed data, trans-impedance amplifiers, receive and transmit optical sub-assembly (ROSA/TOSA), synchronous optical network (SONET), broadband test equipment and broadband microwave/millimeter-wave circuit applications. 100 MHz Phase Lock Oscillator with Vibration Compensation System
The 501-35195 from Quantic Wenzel (Wenzel Associates, Inc.) is a Phase Lock Oscillator (PLO) with an input frequency of 10 MHz and an output frequency of 100 MHz. It uses Quantic Wenzel’s proprietary bootstrap oscillator technology that consists of two rugged OCXOs of the same frequency phase locked together. This PLO has special compensation techniques that minimize vibration-induced phase noise by mechanically aligning the two oscillators and summing a compensation voltage with the electrical tuning to the oscillators. It requires a DC supply of +12 V, consumes less than 10 W (for 5 minutes of warm-up), and less than 8 W (steady-state) of power. Read more
Surface-Mount Bandpass Filter with Passband from 2 to 18 GHz
The B100MH0W from Knowles is a Band Pass Filter with a passband from 2 to 18 GHz. It has a passband insertion loss of less than 2 dB and provides up to 60 dB of rejection below the passband and 35 dB of rejection above the passband. This filter utilizes integrated Quasi-lumped planar custom designs and is pre-configured for wire bonding. The DRH110 from RF SPIN is a Double-Ridged Horn Antenna that operates from 14 to 110 GHz. This linearly polarized antenna has an antenna factor from 44.3 to 53.5 dB/m and a VSWR of less than 2.1:1. It can handle a CW input power of 4 W and a peak input power of 8 W. The antenna exhibits low return loss over a wide operating bandwidth and is individually calibrated to cover the 5G frequency band. The B10G4750N12DL from Ampleon is a 3-Stage Integrated Doherty MMIC that operates from 4700 to 5000 MHz. It delivers a nominal output power of 12 W (at 3 dB gain compression) with a power gain of 30 dB and a drain efficiency of 32%. This MMIC is manufactured using Ampleon's state-of-the-art LDMOS technology and has independent control of the carrier and peaking bias. It integrates input splitter, output combiner, output matching, and ESD protection in a single package.
