MegaPhase Introduces Thermal Vacuum (TVAC) Cables up to 50 GHz for Altitude Testing

MegaPhase, an industry leader that designs, manufactures, and markets high-performance radio frequency (RF) coaxial cables and connectors for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), has introduced Thermal VAC Test Cables up to 50 GHz. Thermal VAC microwave test cables are specifically designed for testing space and airborne systems and components and offer a maximum frequency of 50 GHz. These rugged and phase-stable cable assemblies are ideal for high bay testing of RF payloads, and applications in the severe environments of thermal vacuum chambers, altitude chambers, thermal shock, or any other application requiring thermal stability.

The cable is available in two versions: TV32 and TV50. The TV32 features a PTFE dielectric and a GrooveTube Cu outer conductor. The TV50 uses a foamed FEP dielectric and an Ag-plated Cu Foil/Braid outer conductor. Both cables have a solid Ag-plated Cu inner conductor and a Viton, over metallic braid standard finish.

Features of Thermal VAC Test Cables

  • Low Outgassing
  • Ideal for High Bay Testing
  • Phase Stable
  • Vented Connectors
  • Rugged Construction
  • Thermal Stability

The cables have a maximum operating frequency of 50 GHz and a minimum shielding effectiveness of -110 dB. They exhibit a time delay of 1.47 ns/ft (TV32) and 1.27 ns/ft (TV50). The cables feature a finished outer diameter of 0.724 cm and a static bend radius of 3.81 cm. They offer options for connectors including 1.85mm, 2.4mm, 2.92mm, 3.5mm, 7mm, 7-16 DIN, BNC, SMA, TNC, Type N, ZMA, and ZN.
