Antenova has opened a new office in Santa Rosa, California. This new office (opened on 1st September 2015) consists of an RF laboratory and test equipment providing both technical and sales support. This gives Antenova, a UK company, the ability to offer local support to its growing base of customers and partners in North America. This is the second office of Antenova in the Unites State, the first one being on the east coast in Illinois. The office will be led by Norm Smith who joins the company in the role of Vice President, North America, and will lead the company’s US operation and further expansion in America.
Norm Smith’s role is to lead Antenova’s business development and technical support activities in the US and Canada, and to work with end customers, manufacturers’ representatives, and distributors to promote the sales of their embedded antennas, RF antenna modules and related RF design and support services. Norm has an extensive technical background in RF and antenna design, which should help with collaborations with US channel partners and end customers on new designs for connected devices.
Antenova specializes in antennas and RF antenna modules for M2M and the Internet of Things. Industry analysts expect rapid growth in the M2M market as enterprises adopt Cloud Computing and the Internet of Things, and consumers increasingly rely on smart devices and social media. Gartner has recently predicted that Smart Cities will use 1.1 Billion connected devices in 2015 and that this could rise to 9.7 Billion by 2020.
Antenova will be exhibiting at the CTIA Supermobility 2015 show in Las Vegas from 9 - 11 September. Colin Newman and Norm Smith will be there to meet old and new customers and will be showing: a new antenna solution for TransferJetTM, a new GNSS module for On Board Devices, and a completely new range of flexible antennas for consumer devices.
