KRYTAR, Inc., a designer and producer of ultra-broadband microwave components and test equipment announces five (5) new Directional Couplers operating in the ultra-broadband frequency range of 4 to 50 GHz (C- through Q-Bands) offering Nominal Couplings from 6 dB to 20 dB in compact packages. These couplers offer the ultimate solution for emerging designs and test and measurement applications including mmWave, 5G, radar and satellite communications (SATCOM) and more.
KRYTAR’s new directional couplers:
- Model 104050006: Nominal Coupling: 6 dB, Frequency Sensitivity: ±2.0 dB, Insertion Loss: 2.8 dB
- Model 104050010: Nominal Coupling: 10 dB, Frequency Sensitivity is ±0.8 dB, Insertion Loss: 2.0 dB
- Model 104050013: Nominal Coupling: 13 dB, Frequency Sensitivity: ±0.8 dB, Insertion Loss: 1.8 dB
- Model 104050016: Nominal Coupling of 16 dB, Frequency Sensitivity: ±0.8 dB, Insertion Loss: 1.7 dB
- Model 104050020: Nominal Coupling of 20 dB, Frequency Sensitivity: ±1.25 dB, Insertion Loss: 1.7 dB
All models exhibit Directivity of >10 dB, Maximum VSWR of 1.6 at any port, and Input Power Rating is 20 W average and 3 kW peak. Each directional coupler comes with industry-standard 1.85-mm Female connectors in a compact package that measures just 2.50 inches (L) x 0.50 inches (W) x 0.65 inches (H) and weighs only 1.9 ounces. The operating temperature is -54° to 85° C.
KRYTAR’s new directional couplers are uniquely designed for systems applications where external leveling, precise monitoring, signal mixing or swept transmission and reflection measurements are required. KRYTAR couplers offer solutions for many ultra-broadband applications including electronic warfare (EW), mmWave, 5G NR (New Radio), Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E, SATCOM, radar, MIMO (Multiple-Input and Multiple-Output) radio links, signal monitoring and measurement, antenna beamforming, and EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) testing environments. The directional couplers can also be manufactured to meet ridged military specifications.
