KRYTAR Announces Two New Dual-Directional Couplers from 0.7 to 14 GHz

KRYTAR, Inc., a provider of design and production of ultra-broadband microwave components and test equipment announces two (2) new Dual-Directional Couplers operating in the wideband frequency range of 0.7 to 14 GHz offering Nominal Couplings of 10 dB and 20 dB in compact packages. These dual-directional couplers offer the ultimate solution for emerging designs and test and measurement applications including power sampling and measurement, amplifier leveling, VSWR monitoring, field control, and amplifier and load protection.

KRYTAR’s new dual-directional couplers expand the family of superior performance products offering broadband coverage in compact packages with superior performance ratings including:

  • Model 500714010: Nominal Coupling: 10 dB, Frequency Sensitivity: ±0.85 dB, Insertion Loss: <2.7 dB
  • Model 500714020: Nominal Coupling: 20 dB, Frequency Sensitivity: ±0.80 dB, Insertion Loss: 1.5 dB

Both models cover 0.7 GHz to 14 GHz and exhibit an input power rating of 20 W average and 3 kW peak. They include industry-standard SMA Female connectors in a compact package that measures just 8.98 inches (L) x 0.71 inches (W) x 0.53 inches (H), and weighs only 7 ounces. The operating temperature is -54° to 85° C.

KRYTAR coaxial dual-directional couplers are 4-port couplers that are the combination of two 3-port couplers having their main lines cascaded. This dual-directional design, two back-to-back couplers in the same package, lets you monitor forward and reflected power. It also assures good directivity, flatness, and coupling accuracy.

KRYTAR's dual-directional couplers are uniquely designed for systems applications where external leveling, precise monitoring, signal mixing or swept transmission and reflection measurements are required. KRYTAR couplers offer solutions for many applications including electronic warfare (EW), commercial wireless, SATCOMradar, signal monitoring and measurementantenna beamforming, and EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) testing environments. For many space-restricted applications, the compact size makes KRYTAR directional couplers ideal solutions. These directional couplers can also be manufactured to meet rigid military specifications.

KRYTAR also offers complete engineering services for custom designs that meet or exceed critical performance and/or packaging specifications. Data sheets with specifications and a package outline drawing are available via KRYTAR’s Web site.
