Akoustis Technologies has received a $2 Million order for its advanced Wi-Fi 7 filters from a tier 1 carrier company. These filters will be integrated into a tri-band 4x4 MIMO router, covering the 5.5 and 6.5 GHz Wi-Fi bands. This production is set to begin in July 2024 and continue through March 2025.
Wi-Fi technology advancements aim to enhance data transfer rates and transmission density. Akoustis' XBAW® filters support 5 and 6 GHz band along with Multi-Link Operation (MLO), offering higher throughput and lower latency for up to 10 Gbps. The customer's router will serve residential and small to medium-sized business markets. The company initially supported the ramp-up in early 2024 and now continues with these new volume orders. The company anticipates announcing more production orders in the near future, reflecting growing demand for high-speed connectivity solutions.
Dave Aichele, Executive Vice President of Business Development of Akoustis, stated, “Akoustis is currently securing strong backlog in Wi-Fi 6E and new Wi-Fi 7 programs, which we expect to achieve record revenue in the September quarter.” Mr. Aichele continued, “As the demand for high-speed connectivity continues to rise, we are proud to provide compact, high-performance solutions that allow our customers to meet and exceed these expectations.”
