TTM Technologies, a leading global manufacturer of technology solutions including mission systems, RF components and RF microwave/microelectronic assemblies and printed circuit boards (“PCB”s), has introduced its ultra-compact, low-profile broadband balanced to unbalanced transformers, the XMB0220K1-50100G and XMB0465Z1-50100G. These state-of-the-art balun transformers are engineered for diverse end markets, including test and measurement, telecom, Commercial Off-The-Shelf (“COTS”) military and aerospace (“Mil-Aero”), 5G, LTE and aero radar.
The XMB0220K1-50100G (0.18 – 1.9 GHz) and XMB0465Z1-50100G (0.4 – 6.5 GHz) offer excellent Common-Mode Rejection Ratio (CMRR), which is critical to ensure an efficient signal conversion. The XMB0220K1-50100G enables single-ended signals to be applied to differential ports on analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog converters, and integrated RF chipsets used in radars and Internet of Things (IoT) sensors. It has an unbalanced port impedance of 50 Ohms and a balanced port impedance of 100 Ohms. This transformer can handle an input power of 1 W and has an insertion loss of 5 dB.
The XMB0465Z1-50100G is an ultra-small (1008), low-profile balun that is also suitable for high-level integration into 5G, LTE, and aero radar systems, as well as L, S & C-Band in communications and mil-aero markets. This module also enables single-ended signals to be applied to differential ports on integrated RF chipsets. It has a unbalanced/balanced port impedance of 50/100 Ohms. This module can handle an input power of 1 W and has an insertion loss of 7 dB. The amplitude balance of XMB0220K1-50100G is +/-0.6 dB and +/- 0.9 dB for XMB0465Z1-50100G. Both the transformers have a phase balance of 180 degrees.
The two products are now available for sampling through TTM’s website. They will be available for purchase later this fall.
