K-Band Silicon SATCOM Rx Quad-Core IC for Phased Array Radars

AWS-0102Richardson Electronics has announced the availability of a new K-band silicon SATCOM Rx quad-core integrated circuit from Anokiwave, Inc. It enables planar phased array radar and supports four dual-polarized radiating elements. The device enables planar phased array radars and supports four dual-polarization radiating elements with full programmable polarization flexibility. It provides 22 dB gain with a noise figure of 3.4 dB. Additional features include gain compensation over temperature and temperature reporting.

The new IC offers ESD protection on all pins, operates from +1.8 V, and is packaged in a 56-lead, 7 mm x 7 mm PQFN for easy installation in planar phased array antennas.

This is the second in their series of Silicon AESA Quad Core ICs that they believe will set a new standard in the industry for AESA multi-element beam forming ICs.

Additional key features of the AWS-0102 include:

  • Flexible polarization (RHCP, LHCP, linear)
  • 5-bit phase control (LSB=11.25°)
  • 5-bit gain (LSB=0.5 dB, DR=15.5 dB)
  • 0.3 W DC power

See complete specs of the AWS-0102 Chipset. This device is available via Anokiwave’s global, highly-technical sales team.
