Antenova has launched a new SMD antenna for all LTE applications, including MIMO systems called Lucida. This antenna is the latest in the family of lamiiANT antennas which are manufactured from high grade dielectric constant laminate substrates.
While most LTE user devices in the United States operate in the 700 MHz band. LTE Technology in other regions operate at frequencies up to 2.7 GHz. The Lucida antenna has been designed to operate in all of the LTE and mobile bands: LTE 700, GSM 850, GSM 900, DCS 1800, PCS 1900, WCDMA 2100, LTE B7 (2500 – 2690 MHz, LTE B40 (2300-2400 MHz). This makes it suitable for use in 4G MiFi routers, Femto/Pico base stations, portable devices, remote monitoring, network devices, and wearable devices.
Lucida is an extremely small, ultra-low profile antenna, measuring only 35 x 8.5 x 3.2mm. The antenna maintains high performance through a wide frequency range and MIMO requirements of the LTE spectrum when embedded within a wireless device.
Antenova’s antenna design team has adopted a philosophy of Design for Integration (DFI) where the design approach is to create an antenna that a product designer can place on a PCB and integrate with the other circuits in a convenient way, rather than designing a product to fit around the antenna. The antenna uses a ground plane on the host PCB to radiate effectively. The antenna itself requires a clearance underneath. An external matching circuit is used to optimise the antenna within a device to the required bands.
The Lucida Antenna is fully tested and ready to ship.
