Fairview Microwave Launches Flexible Waveguide Series Operating up to 40 GHz

Fairview Microwave has introduced a new portfolio of flexible waveguides operating up to 40 GHz over nine popular frequency bands. These new flexible waveguides, also known as flexguides, are most commonly deployed as a pliable signal conduit in misaligned waveguide systems where traditional rigid waveguide sections are no longer possible to use.

This new flexible (and twistable) waveguide family consists of 36 models ranging in size from WR-137 as low as 5.85 GHz to WR-28 up to 40 GHz. Typical VSWR for these flexible waveguides ranges from 1.05:1 up to 1.35:1 depending on waveguide size and frequency and insertion loss performance is as low as 0.07 dB. These waveguide sections can flex in both the E and H planes and will also twist, making them a great solution in many different types of applications.

The flexible waveguides from Fairview utilize helically wound silver coated brass strips surrounded by a flexible and twistable neoprene sleeve. The ends of the waveguide are terminated with brass flanges available in nine waveguide sizes and multiple flange styles. They can be ordered in standard lengths including 12, 24 and 36 inches with same-day shipping.
