Cobham to Deliver Radar System to Tallinn Airport

Cobham Special Mission announced that they have been awarded a €1.2M contract to provide an upgraded version of their RDS1600 Radar Display System for use at Estonia Air Navigation Services' (EANS) Tallinn Airport. The RDS1600 is an Air Traffic Control system and has been used by EANS since the mid 1990s. This system has completed several updates since then and this latest announcement represents the third additional contract and installation. Under the contract, this system will provide 12 operator positions and Cobham will provide onsite training on the upgraded system to the operators at Tallinn Airport.

The Cobham RDS1600 for Air Traffic Control system is in use at 120 military and civilian sites around the globe. They have been working closely with EANS to provide enhanced capability and improved safety features for the RDS1600 system. The solution is a continuation of proven Cobham technology, with the upgraded solution linking to the EANS current primary display system and providing enhanced operational Air Traffic Services.
