RFMW and Akoustis Technologies have announced a distribution agreement which was effective as of July 1, 2016. Akoustis Technologies, is a manufacturer of the innovative BulkONE™ bulk acoustic wave (BAW) high band RF filters for mobile wireless and general purpose RF catalog components. RFMW is a specialized distributor providing customers and suppliers with focused distribution of RF and microwave components as well as specialized component-engineering support.
Under the agreement, RFMW is the franchised worldwide distributor for Akoustis complete product offering. RFMW will initially focus on promoting the DC to 14 GHz gain blocks targeted to applications such as test & measurement, aerospace & defense, wireless infrastructure, satellite communications, point-to-point radio and use in ISM Bands. In addition, RFMW will work closely with Akoustis to promote their unique single-crystal BAW filters targeting 4G/LTE mobile wireless, WiFi, wireless infrastructure and aerospace & defense with its production release in the first half of 2017.
Teaming with Akoustis will enable RFMW to offer customers some unique and highly versatile RF semiconductor technologies. Akoustis’ gain blocks have excellent gain flatness and an exceptional combination of both gain and output power offered in both DIE and packaged devices. RFMW’s component engineering, product management and sales capabilities will position Akoustis to engage early in the customer’s design process. They have the resources, experience, and extensive market knowledge in RF filters and amplifiers to expand Akoustis business over the full range of their customer base.
