Fairview Microwave has introduced a line of coaxial packaged bi-directional amplifiers used for transmitting and receiving RF signals in popular applications including L and S band radars, commercial air traffic control, weather and earth observation systems, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), unmanned ground vehicles, military radio and satellite communications. These bi-directional amplifiers are designed for use in both commercial and military applications and will support any signal type and modulation format such as 3G and 4G telecom, WLAN, OFDM, DVB and CW/AM/FM. They are ideal for 2-way communications systems.
They offer high power density, efficiency and linearity in small lightweight environmentally sealed packages with SMA connectors. These units also feature a quick-connect circular locking connector for DC and control functions and each design uses a single voltage supply with voltage regulation.
This bi-directional RF amplifier line consists of two narrow-band models that operate in L-Band from 1.35 to 1.39 GHz and S-Band from 2.4 to 2.5 GHz. They are also available in a general purpose configuration that covers 30 MHz to 3 GHz. These designs produce high quality transmit signals across 802.11 wireless networks while amplifying received signals with low noise figure of 2.5 dB to produce the highest possible data rates. Typical transmit gain levels for these amplifiers range from 20 to 23 dB with ±0.5 dB gain flatness. Another key feature is fast switching capability (1 microsecond typical) between Transmit (Tx) and Receive (Rx) states.
Fairview's new bi-directional amplifiers are in-stock and ready to ship immediately.
