Molex has introduced a Brad IP67 solution portfolio based on IO-Link technology, the open standard protocol for industrial communication, which allows fieldbus and manufacturer-independent connections of smart sensors and actuators to a network. Brad IO-Link solutions enable the design of a new generation of industrial machines that require high availability and scalability, as well as extensive use of diagnostics for preventive and corrective maintenance.
Quick and reliable Brad IP67 IO-Link solutions connect industrial controllers to IO devices in harsh environments where liquids, dust or vibration may be present. The IP67-rated housing on the Brad HarshIO Ethernet module eliminates the need for a protective cabinet. The patented Ultra-Lock push-to-lock connection system allows fast, safe, operator independent IP67-sealed connection of cordsets.
Brad IO-Link solutions include IP67 PROFINET IO-Link master modules in 60 mm format and IP67 IO-Link digital hubs. The PROFINET master module features eight M12 ports with on each port of an IO-Link master channel and a configurable digital I/O channel. The digital hubs are available in 16 Inputs or 12 Inputs + 4 Outputs versions.
The daisy-chain wiring topology and integrated 2-port switch with 100 Mbps full duplex data transmission enable the wiring of applications without switches for a lower overall cost to machine builders. Advanced module features such as short-circuit protection, media redundancy protocol (MRP), web server and visible diagnostic LEDs offer ease-of-use and simpler machine operation.
