Keysight has announced their plan to help accelerate the deployment of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. The internet of things is expected to help connect billions of devices with applications - such as smart homes, connected cars, healthcare and smart cities; as well as industrial applications, including energy systems, agriculture and transportation.
Device manufacturers will now be able to verify that their Cat M1 capable products comply with a North American carrier’s Cat M1 focused Test Plan by using the Keysight Anite SAS Interoperability Test Solution (SAS). The carrier validated the Test Plan following successful execution of test cases using the leading carrier acceptance solution SAS, as well as a device equipped with Qualcomm Technologies’ MDM9206 LTE IoT modem. Cat M1 is an IoT-centric variety of LTE that uses 1.4 MHz of spectrum to deliver 300 kbps to 400 kbps.
Keysight offers designers the ability to optimize IoT designs for critical performance attributes such as power consumption, RF performance and interoperability, by simulating the real world in the lab using the Keysight UXM. The UXM is the world’s first wireless test set to demonstrate connectivity with an NB-IoT device that complies to the NB-IoT standards. NB-IoT is a standards-based low-power wide-area technology developed to enable a wide range of new IoT devices and services.
