Cobham announced automated test and alignment capabilities for the EF Johnson Viking portable and mobile radios. This new capability is available on the Cobham 800SX Digital Radio Test Set and includes Auto-Test functionality for the 400, 600 and 900 Series of portable and mobile radios.
The automated test and alignment procedure provides fully automated test and alignment of EF Johnson Viking radios without the need for user interaction. This test system ensures consistent and reliable tests and alignment to manufacturer-recommended specifications and to industry standards, ensuring proper interoperability and a uniform standard of performance within the radio’s network technology.
The 8800SX provides an advanced method for repeatable and highly accurate test and alignment for EF Johnson Viking radios that require minimal technical interface. It is designed for maximum test efficiency. With the industry’s largest color touch-screen display, its unique fast-stack user interface, user-defined presets, customer frequency lists, and its ability to handle up to 125 W of direct power; test professionals can set up analog and digital meters and test functions.
The EF Johnson Viking Auto-Test Software (Option 115) is now available and can be ordered by contacting the Cobham. The software option, like all options for the 8800SX, is field upgradeable.
