Defence and security company Saab is set to deploy its Integrated Air Traffic Control Suite (I-ATS) at Changi Airport, Singapore, which recently won the Skytrax World’s Best Airport Award for the fifth consecutive year. Saab will provide an upgrade to the existing 8-year old A-SMGCS system at the airport. It will also replace the network of multi-lateration sensors with its latest generation of high performance RU7 ground stations.
Saab’s Integrated ATC Suite (I-ATS) is a flexible, scalable solution that provides tower and approach controllers with a comprehensive set of automation tools to manage operations safely and efficiently. It includes air and ground surveillance and safety alerts, integrates flight data, manages controller workflows, and interfaces with various types of environmental systems such as weather or airfield lighting.
The I-ATS will fuse surveillance data from the multi-lateration sensors and surface movement radars for the location and identification of all aircraft operating on the airport’s surface. This upgrade includes integration with the airfield ground lighting control system to provide advanced follow-the-greens guidance capabilities. This will support operational performance in all weather conditions.
Saab’s Air Traffic Management expertise spans from surveillance sensors, ATC automation, collaborative decision making, and digital towers. Its solutions are currently operational and trusted by air navigation service providers, airports and airlines across six continents and in more than 100 locations across 45 countries.
