Modelithics has announced that Paul White has just been named as the newest member of the Modelithics Board of Directors. Paul brings an extensive and impressive resume of business and technical knowledge to the company, with over 35 years in the RF and microwave industry.
Paul’s early experience includes the engineering of low noise and high power solid state amplifier systems for next generation fire control radar systems, and in sales and marketing of a Hewlett Packard test and measurement product line. He then became a partner at Applied Engineering Consultants, selling microwave hardware and software into the defense and intelligence marketplace. Later, Paul founded Chesapeake Microwave Technologies, developing a variety of microwave systems for both military and intelligence applications, with a focus on high power solid state transmission hardware. Chesapeake transitioned into the commercial wireless infrastructure business, developing some unique transmission platforms for CDMA, TDMA, and GSM applications. Chesapeake was acquired by Andrew Corporation where Paul became the Chief Technologist for active products with a focus on infrastructure multicarrier power systems.
In 2002, Paul co-founded IDSI which specialized in military communications and electronic warfare systems, mostly developed around high bandgap semiconductor technologies, including silicon carbide and emerging gallium nitride devices. IDSI delivered tens of thousands of GaN-based high power jammers to provide a countermeasure defense against radio-detonated IED threats in Iraq and Afghanistan from 2004-2008. They also provided the transmitter platforms for the emerging military Joint Tactical Radio System marketplace. IDSI was acquired by General Dynamics C4 Systems in 2008, where Paul continued to serve as a consultant until 2011.
Paul currently serves as a board member for 4 companies, 3 non-profit organizations, and as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees at his church. He is a member of the IEEE and Eta Kappa Nu honor society, and has been awarded 9 patents.
