HUBER+SUHNER Introduces Eco-Friendly RF Cables

HUBER+SUHNER has added new line of halogen free RF cables called Enviroflex basic. These cables are an environmentally friendly and cost-effective alternative to Radio Guide (RG) cables. The Enviroflex family will now allow users to quickly switch from fluorine-containing cables to halogen-free alternatives. The materials used in the cable design - both for the dielectric and for the jacket - do not include any fluorine/chlorine-consisting plastics, and the dimensions of the individual cable types are entirely compatible with the international RG standards.

The new cables further cut down on costs by using common polyethylene (PE) dielectrics and Low Smoke Free of Halogen (LSFH) jackets, reducing the maximum allowed temperature to 85°C, which is still sufficient in many less demanding applications.

Environmentally, Enviroflex do not contain the PVC jacket present in standard coaxial cables which generally contain chlorine and other chemicals that have adverse effects on the environment. By replacing silver with tin plated braids in the cables, prices can even be reduced while still maintaining a high quality standard.
