Spreadtrum Communications, a leading fabless semiconductor company in China with advanced technology in 2G, 3G, and 4G wireless communication standards, has announced that its 4G chipset SC9830i has been adopted for Samsung newly released Z2 smart phone, which have been launched into the market in August 2016.
The Samsung Z2,Tizen OS based 4.0” TFT capacitive touch screen model supports a VoLTE solution powered by Spreadtrum's LTE 28nm quad-core SoC platform SC9830i, features 1GB RAM/8 GB storage, a micro SD slot up to 128 GB. As far as the cameras are concerned, the Samsung Z2 packs a 5 megapixel primary camera supporting 720p HD video recording, and a 0.3 megapixel front shooter.
This highly integrated SoC platform consists of 28nm quad-core 1.5GHz ARM Cortex-A7 5-mode (TDD-LTE/FDD-LTE/TD-SCDMA/WCDMA/HSPA(+)/GSM/GPRS/EDGE) baseband chip SC9830i, power management chip SC2723M, RF chip SR3593S, and Spreadtrum's 3in1 connectivity chip SC2331S.
This is the first time that Samsung has selected Spreadtrum's LTE solution.
