Google to Hold 1 Day Event to Discuss RFID & NFC Opportunities

The NFC Forum along with RAIN RFID Alliance and AIM (Advanced Identification Matters) has signed a partnership to establish and deliver the Connections Summit on March 7, 2018 at Google Java CornersSunnyvale, California.

The Connections Summit is a one-day event featuring over 25 speaker-led sessions, panel discussions, case studies and networking opportunities focusing on how Automatic Identification and Data Capture (AIDC), Near Field Communication (NFC) and Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) make the world more connected for businesses and consumers. The keynote addresses will be delivered by Antony Passemard, project management lead, Google Cloud Platform, Google and Raghu Das, CEO, IDTechEx.

The Summit features multiple tracks on Internet of Things (IoT), retail and smart products, security, block-chain, healthcare and other market opportunities. Google is the Platinum Sponsor for the Summit. Aware Innovations, EM Microelectronic, IDcode, SMARTRAC and Teslonix are Gold Sponsors. Silver Sponsors include muRata, VISA and Voyantic.

AIM, NFC Forum and RAIN RFID Alliance are the world's leading standards and advocacy associations in their respective technologies of AIDC, NFC and passive UHF RFID.

What is particularly notable about the Summit is its emphasis on presentations based on real-world deployments and case studies using the technology. There has been a surge in the use of these technologies and industry leaders including Avery Dennison, L'Oreal and Lenovo among others will present at the Connections Summit on the use of AIDC, NFC and RFID in both business and by consumers. With over two billion NFC-enabled smartphones in use helping to connect the almost 36 billion IoT devices in the world, the world is now getting connected. The Connections Summit is a topical and timely knowledge exchange about the ongoing integration of technologies providing improved connectivity for IoT, blockchain, retail, transportation, healthcare and other opportunities.
